Projekt MAG

Project MAG

The Mersin-Adana-Gaziantep project is of central importance for the modernization of the Turkish rail network and for improving connections to eastern Turkey. The aim of the project is to increase the share of rail in interurban transport and to create a fast, safe, and economical transport alternative.

The construction of a new 286 km high-speed rail line will connect the cities of Mersin, Adana, Ceyhan, Toprakkale, Bahçe, Nurdağı, and Gaziantep. The line will improve connections to the port of Mersin, the new airport in Adana, and several industrial centers, strengthening economic development throughout the region.

The MAG project will reduce travel time between Mersin and Gaziantep from six hours to just two and will enable the transport of passengers and freight. The modern infrastructure will promote the sustainable economic development of the region and improve connections to central economic centers.

Contract

The project was put out to tender as an EPCF project. Heitkamp Construction Swiss is playing a central role within the project structure as a subcontractor with a significant contract volume.

Technical
The project includes extensive infrastructure and civil engineering work as well as the installation of electrification and signaling technology. In addition to the 286 km of railway track, a large number of civil engineering structures are being built as part of the project, including 32 underpasses, 29 overpasses, 10 viaducts, 25 bridges, and two tunnels. In addition, 190 culverts will be built to contribute to the stability and drainage of the line. These measures will ensure an efficient and modern rail infrastructure that promotes safe and efficient rail transport in the region.
