Sanierung Bärentritt- und Wiesentunnel I

Renovation of the Bärentritt and Wiesentunnel I

Heitkamp Construction Swiss GmbH has been commissioned by Rhätische Bahn to renovate the Bärentritt and Wiesentunnel I. The aim of the project is to bring the tunnels up to the latest standards and ensure their long-term operational safety. This involves renewing the drainage systems to ensure that water is reliably drained away and modernizing the cable systems to equip the railway with future-proof technology.

As part of the renovation, Heitkamp is laying new drainage pipes with a length of approximately two kilometers. In addition, almost three kilometers of protective pipes for cables are being installed to better protect power and data lines and make them more accessible. New inspection and cable shafts are also being built for this purpose. Crossings are also being built under the tracks so that water can flow away unhindered.

All work will be carried out exclusively at night to minimize disruption to regular rail services during the day. Heitkamp will provide the necessary technology and personnel for the transport of materials and the use of special machinery.

Construction work will begin in mid-2025 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
