Heitkamp Construction Swiss GmbH Breakthrough Ceremony for the Las Ruinas Tunnel – Official Start of Construction

On 6 May 2026, the breakthrough ceremony for the Las Ruinas Tunnel took place, marking the official start of the construction phase for this key structure within the modernisation of the Lukmanierstrasse H416. The tunnel represents a significant milestone in the overall project and makes an important contribution to the long-term safety and reliability of this vital transport corridor.

With the commencement of construction, the project transitions from a multi‑year planning phase into execution under challenging alpine conditions. As a member of the ARGE Las Ruinas, Heitkamp Construction Swiss GmbH contributes its extensive experience and technical expertise in tunnel construction to the project. Throughout the works, a strong focus is placed on quality, safety and the responsible use of environmental and natural resources.
